Katie Grimes lit the pool up in the first ‘A’ final of the night, throwing down a stunning 3:57.02 to win the 400 IM by a massive margin. Her swim marks a pool record, meet record, and a 15-16 NAG. Additionally, Grimes is now under the 17-18 NAG as well.

Not to be outdone by Grimes, Maximus Williamson had an electrifying performance in the boys 400 IM, speeding to an incredible 3:39.83. That swim marks a new meet record and shattered one of the oldest boys NAG Records on the books. The 15-16 NAG was held by Michael Phelps at 3:42.08 from 2002.

Bella Sims was just off her 1:40 lead-off from the 800 free relay on Wednesday night, but she led an impressive charge by the Sandpipers. Katie Grimes and Claire Weinstein both went 1:43s, while Macky Hodges, a new addition to the team this fall, clocked in at 1:45.69.

I think that was the most beautiful swum 400 IM I’ve witnessed. She was so relaxed beginning to end. Every stroke looked perfect. Nicely done, Katie.
