For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
USC has announced the addition of two new divers from Mexico who will join in the fall of 2026: Ruben Arnoldo Del Prado on the men’s side and Nattalia Nunez Sanchez on the women’s side.
Del Prado, who hails from Nuevo León, is a national champion and has represented Mexico on the international stage on multiple occasions. He took home the gold medal in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the 2024 CCCAN Championships.
At the 2024 World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships, Del Prado placed 12th in the boys’ 14-15 1-meter springboard event with 307.95 points. He also finished 17th on the 10-meter platform with a score of 310.55 points.
Del Prado was also a finalist at the 2025 Pan American Aquatics Championships, placing 7th in the men’s 16-18 1-meter springboard event.
Sanchez, meanwhile, is from Guanajuato and has also made a splash representing Mexico internationally.
Sanchez competed at the 2022 World Junior Diving Championships in Montreal, Canada, where she placed 12th in the girls’ 3-meter synchronized diving event alongside Aime Cano Lira.
A Division I program, USC competes in the Big Ten Conference. On the men’s side, the Trojans placed multiple athletes in the finals of each diving event at the 2026 conference championships, although only one cracked the top eight. Senior Laurent Gosselin-Paradis placed 5th in the 10-meter diving event.
At the 2026 Women’s Big Ten Conference Championships, USC saw at least one diver finish in the top 12 in each event thanks to sophomore Kate Miller, who placed as high as 4th on the 10-meter. The only other Trojan to land in the finals was classmate Alena Lotterer, who finished 23rd in the 3-meter event.
USC has managed to score some points in the diving events at the NCAA Championships over the last few years, with the men’s team landing a diver in the final in all three events at the 2026 competition and scoring 43 diving points to help the Trojans earn a 14th-place finish overall. The men also scored in two diving events at the 2024 and 2025 NCAA championships.
The USC women’s team, meanwhile, did not see any divers make it to the finals of the 2026 NCAA Championships but scored in one event in 2025 and two in 2024.
The Trojans are set to graduate three male divers and one female diver at the end of this academic year, so the addition of Del Prado and Sanchez to the roster next season will help fill the gaps left behind.
The full list of recruits currently set to join Del Prado and Sanchez in USC’s class of 2030 includes Ludovica Di Maria, Brigitta Vass, Maxine Clark, Rylee Hutchinson, Ella Gaca Thiele and Hailey Weiler on the women’s side, while only Andrew Maksymowski and Ryan McDonald have thus far committed on the men’s side.
