University at Buffalo Swim and Dive Training Trip Video

The swimmers and divers from the State University of New York at Buffalo just returned from a training trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The NCAA Division I team, coached by Andy Bashor, put together this video to commemorate their trip, which appears to have been equal parts in-water training, dryland exercises, and shenanigans.

The team’s midseason meet this season was the Bucknell Invite in November, where the men finished second and the women finished third. Top performances from that meet include Julia Box‘s new school record 2:00.36 in the 200 fly; Scott Huang‘s quadruple event-winning, NCAA ‘B’ cuts in the 100 breast (55.33), 200 breast (1:59.43), 200 IM (1:48.63), and 400 IM (3:54.10); 1-2 finishes in the 50 free and the 100 free from Megan Burns (22.53, 50.19) and Sarah Baxter (23.01, 50.43); Antonio Lanzi‘s event-winning 20.57 in the 50 free; Derek Linebaugh‘s first place 1 meter; and Troy Birdsall‘s first place 3 meter.

In the coming semester, the Bulls will face off against the likes of Niagara University, Miami University of Ohio, Ohio University, Toledo, Ohio State, Michigan, West Viginia, and St. Bonaventure. Their seasons will culminate with Mid-American Conference Championships, February 24-27 in Bowling Green, Ohio for the women and March 2-5 in Ypsilanti, Michigan for the men. Those who qualify will also compete at NCAA Championships in Atlanta.
