Two-Time Virginia State Champion Caroline Wanner Signs with Marshall

Stafford, Virginia’s Caroline Wanner has signed an NLI to swim for the Marshall University Thundering Herd in 2015-16. Wanner is a versatile IM/back/flyer with good times in mid-distance free as well. Swimming for Brooke Point High School at the 2014 VHSL 5A State Swimming & Diving Championships, Wanner won the both the 200 IM (2:04.28) and the 500 free (4:56.80). She was also a state finalist her freshman and sophomore years in the 500 free, and her sophomore year in the 200 IM.

Wanner swims for Rappahannock Y Swim Team. Her top SCY times over the last two seasons have been:

200y IM: 2:04.28
400y IM: 4:21.30
100y back: 58.47
200y back: 2:02.29
100y fly: 57.12
200y fly: 2:05.48
500y free: 4:56.80

Wanner’s best 400 IM would break the Marshall school record and her 200 IM, 200 back, 500 free and 200 fly would all make the Herd’s top five or so. Wanner’s times would already make her a Conference USA A-finalist in all her best events.

Wanner was named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team in 2013 and 2014.
