SwimTrek is back with its most ambitious challenge yet—and it’s one that could literally change the world.
This November, they’re asking swimmers everywhere to join forces in a global mission: to collectively swim the circumference of the Earth—24,900 miles—in 30 days.
That’s right. From November 1st through November 30th, swimmers across the planet—open water, pool, triathlon, masters, and club—will take part in #SwimTheWorld, a free event built around connection, purpose, and a love for the water.
And here’s the best part: for every person who takes part, SwimTrek will donate $5 to Seatrees, an environmental charity working to restore and protect coastal ecosystems around the globe. Every lap counts. Every swimmer helps the ocean.
How It Works
This isn’t a competition—it’s a collective goal. Swimmers can register solo or as a team of up to six, logging their swims throughout November. The shared target: 37 miles per team, which, when combined across thousands of participants, will total the Earth’s circumference—24,900 miles of swimming for the planet.
Whether you’re swimming in a chilly lake in Canada, doing laps at your local Y, or chasing waves in Sydney, you’re part of a global relay with one simple mission: save our seas.
Registration is free and takes less than a minute. Once signed up, you’ll get access to digital tracking, updates, and the growing online community of swimmers all over the world.

Why It Matters
The SwimTrek team has always believed that swimming can do more than just make us fitter—it can connect us to the planet in ways few other sports can. This campaign taps into that shared responsibility between swimmers and the sea.
Seatrees, the charity partner, focuses on restoring “blue carbon” coastal ecosystems—kelp forests, mangroves, and coral reefs that pull carbon out of the atmosphere faster than terrestrial forests. It’s the kind of tangible impact that makes every logged swim feel like something bigger.
The oceans are changing, and no one feels that more directly than swimmers. Rising water temps, dying reefs, polluted bays—these are our playing fields. #SwimTheWorld is a reminder that the same sport that brings us joy can also help heal the environment that makes it possible.
-
It’s free.
-
It’s global.
-
It’s purpose-driven.
-
And it’s fun.
Whether you’re chasing your first mile or your hundredth, you’ll be part of something that transcends lanes, clubs, and countries—a global swim community putting its collective energy toward a cleaner, healthier planet.
So grab your goggles. Rally your friends. Log those laps.
This November, let’s #SwimTheWorld, because the water that unites us deserves to be protected.
