Texas A&M Women Travel to Alabama for First SEC Meet

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– The No. 5 Texas A&M women’s swimming and diving team has its first SEC meet of the season at Alabama Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Alabama Aquatic Center.

The meet is streamed online on SEC Network +, which provides events to SEC Network subscribers through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on smartphones, computers, tablets and other connected devices (Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One).

The Aggies are coming off a season-opening 209-142 win at No. 17 Ohio State last weekend. Team captain Sydney Pickrem was named SEC Co-Swimmer of the Week for her efforts in Columbus, Ohio, after winning all four of her individual races–the 400-yard IM (4:12.07), 100-yard backstroke (54:15), 200-yard IM (1:58.64) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.95).

In addition, Claire Rasmus picked up two individual wins, the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.84) and the 100-yard freestyle (50.76) where she finished in a dead heat with teammate Katie Portz. Anna Belousova won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.89), Taylor Pike came out on top in the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.99), and Jing Quah touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (54.97). Haley Allen won the 1-meter diving with a score of 298.60.

Alabama is 1-1 on the season, beating Delta State 206-88, and losing to No. 17 Ohio State 181-119.
