Swimming From Home Talk Show: Columbia Swim Club Coaches and Swimmers

We are all trying to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic as best we can. Staying at home and not socializing is not an easy task for anyone, and keeping a swimmer out of the pool is equally antagonizing. Therefore, SwimSwam is starting the Swimming From Home Talk Show, where host Coleman Hodges speaks with the swimming community about how they’re coping with our current goggle-less reality.

I spoke with my home swim club, Columbia Swim Club in Columbia, Missouri, about how they are facing the current quarantine. This included head coach Gary Galbreath, senior assistant Todd Kramer, head age group coach Sarah Smith, and seniors AJ Huskey and Kaylee English. Similar to what we heard from Club Wolverine, CSC has implemented routine Zoom dryland sessions for all age groups in an effort to keep them active, engaged and connected. The group also discussed the importance of keeping a schedule, especially waking up when you normally would and having some sort of exercise in when you would normally have practice.
