Swimming From Home: Breeja Larson on Airbnb Olympic Experiences, Mental Clinics

We are all trying to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic as best we can. Staying at home and not socializing is not an easy task for anyone, and keeping a swimmer out of the pool is equally antagonizing. Therefore, SwimSwam is starting the Swimming From Home Talk Show, where host Coleman Hodges speaks with the swimming community about how they’re coping with our current goggle-less reality.

When I spoke with 2012 Olympic gold medalist Breeja Larson, we had an unexpected guest with us: her new puppy, Rafa. When she’s not potty-training him, she’s doing her best to stay in shape like the rest of us. But Larson also enlightened me about Airbnb Experiences, specifically how you can buy one with an Olympian. She has been offering her Olympic services on Airbnb for quite a while now, and it is one way she generates income.

Breeja has also been conducting mental clinics with clubs via video calls, in an effort to reach out to as many pool-less swimmers and help them through this time inside.
