Swim Job: Hollins University seeks Volunteer Assistant Swim Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION

hollins1.jpgThe Volunteer Assistant Women’s Swim Coach will work under the supervision of the Head Women’s Swim Coach, assisting with training sessions, coaching, evaluating talent and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and other duties associated with the women’s swim team. This is a volunteer part-time position, running from September through March.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with the conducting of in-season training sessions
  • On deck coaching responsibility for women swimmers
  • Evaluating talent and recruiting prospective student-athletes
  • Demonstrated commitment to NCAA and conference rules and regulations
  • Participating in community service and fund raising activities
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Experience coaching or swimming at the high school / collegiate level

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, operate mowing and field equipment
  • Evening and weekend work required, out-of-town travel required
  • Ten-month position to run August through May
