'Splash of Truth' Now Selling Steroids?

As many have noticed over the past few weeks, the ‘Splash of Truth’ website (www.usswimnscandal.com) that has so famously attacked all levels of swimming for alleged coverups and encouragement of corrupt behavior, has been down with the message “This Account Has Been Suspended” from their host at HostMonster.com.

Many have speculated as to why the website might be down. Have the creators been outed? Has USA Swimming gotten an injunction against the site?

This morning at around 4:45 AM, I logged on to the site and found an extremely odd page. The sate had transformed into “Steroid Mart” with the tagline “Always Low Price. Always,” spoofing off of the Walmart brand.

The site has again been reverted to the “This Account Has Been Suspended” message, but for a brief time, it appeared to be selling steroids (without an obvious spoof aspect, aside from the tagline).

What does this mean? It’s hard to say, really. The Splash of Truth Twitter account (newly created) hasn’t been updated since December 20th, which is similar to the time frame that the site has been down for. On the other hand, it’s possible that the site was hacked and replaced with this steroid message by someone on the outside, and that’s why the host took the account down (not an uncommon practice). Check out the screenshot below.

The mystery that is Splash of Truth continues.
