ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis swept a dual meet at Missouri-St. Louis Saturday afternoon, winning 113-93 in women’s competition and 108-97 in the men’s meet.

Billiken swimmers captured 10 victories, five apiece for the women and men.

Claiming first place for the women were Morgan Walker in the 400 IM (4:48.02), Emily Leonard in the 1000 free (10:49.46), Carly McKeon in the 200 free (1:57.72), Meghan Eng in the 100 back (58.49) and MaryBeth Clark in the 100 fly (59.59).

The Billiken men won three individual events and both relays. Franklin Liu touched first in the 1000 free (9:57.68), Brae Sanchez topped the field in the 100 breast (56.61), and Logan Townsend recorded a victory in the 100 free (47.35).

Ethan Highley and Colton Mosley were members of the Bills’ winning 200 medley (1:34.69) and 200 free (1:25.04) teams. Sanchez and Jack Redden joined that duo in the medley, while Townsend and Wyatt Johnson completed the free relay quartet.

Saint Louis concludes the regular season Saturday, Jan. 27, vs. Maryville at Simon Recreation Center. The Billiken seniors will be honored before the meet, which begins at 1:30 p.m.

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s and women’s swimming teams took on Saint Louis University in its final dual meet of the 2023-24 season on Saturday afternoon at the UMSL Swimming Pool. The team honored its 11 seniors prior to the start of the meet.

The Billikens won the men’s meet 108-97 and the women’s meet 113-93.

The Triton women won six of the 11 events in the competition. The 200 yard medley relay team of Ella LantzZara KonstapelAudrey Lantz and Kate Nelson took the top spot in a time of 1:47.96 while the foursome of Brooklyn MessengerCheyanne GodleskiCallie Clinton and Kelsey Roth finished third at 1:54.05.

A. Lantz was the winner in the 50 free (24.73 seconds), E. Lantz won the 100 free (54.18), Justice Beard took the top spot in the 500 free (5:07.91) and Konstapel was the winner in the 100 breast (1:06.94). UMSL’s quartet of Nelson, Madison BottorffAva Boehning and A. Lantz won the 200 free relay (1:37.26).

Rebecca Bechtel was the runner up in the 1,000 free (10:57.23), Roth was second in the 200 free (1:59.59) and Sophi Whitesell finished second in the 400 individual medley (4:52.64).

The Tritons got third place finishes from Bottorff in the 100 free (55.66) and Godleski in the 100 breast (1:09.23).

UMSL’s men team also won six events and was led by Conley Savage who won the 400 IM (4:09.50) and the 100 fly (50.99). The Tritons took the top three spots in the 400 IM with Aaron Wicklund finishing second (4:10.29) and Jaxson Mahlstadt came in third (4:15.38).

Joining Savage on the winners podium were: Guillem Masjuan Roca who won the 200 free (1:46.67), David Reynolds took the top spot in the 50 free (21.14), Ryan Conner was the winner in the 100 back (52.20) and Hendrik Bechtel won the 500 free (4:43.26).

The Triton 200 medley relay squad of Masjuan Roca, Dylan Bonnett, Savage and Reynolds were second at 1:35.11. Ethan Boehle took second in the 100 fly (52.78), Masjuan Roca was the runner up in the 100 back (52.51) and the 200 free relay quartet of Wicklund, Boehle, Mason Stimson and Mahlstadt claimed second in a time of 1:23.44.

Stimson finished third in the 1000 free (10:15.27) and Wicklund was third in the 500 free (4:50.01).

UMSL returns to the pool on February 6-10 for the GLVC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind.
