Russian Doping Control, RUSADA, Will Collect Samples at 2015 FINA World Championships

With the occasion of the preparation of the FINA World Championships and FINA World Masters Championships to be held this summer in Kazan (Tatarstan, Russia), a meeting was organised on April 25, 2015 with the presence of the chairman of the FINA Doping Control Review Board, Prof. Andrew Pipe, the chairman of the FINA Sports Medicine Committee, Prof. Cees-Rein van den Hoogenband, the representatives from Kazan 2015 Organising Committee, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) and the WADA-accredited laboratory of Moscow.

It was agreed that the samples will be collected by RUSADA under the control and the supervision of the FINA Doping Control Commission appointed for the 16th FINA World Championships – Kazan 2015.

The samples will be analysed in the WADA-accredited laboratory of Moscow. FINA has approached other WADA-accredited laboratories to invite some of their experts to collaborate with the WADA-accredited laboratory of Moscow for the analysis of the samples during the FINA World Championships.

The Ministry of Sports of Russia, together with FINA, is fully collaborating on this procedure, which is similar to the one organised during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi (RUS).

So the fox is guarding the chicken coop? Please. All we can do is speak loud and clear NOW to let the Russian Federation know that the fans are not stupid. We have the internet at our disposal and it is vitally important that as a united group, we speak and speak and speak and speak that we are not going to look the other way. SwimSwam needs to keep this dialogue going as a warning that anything suspicious will not be ignored by the fans. As (fans) we do have a united voice, and I am glad that SwimSwam is here to let us be heard…..LOUDLY.

I don’t get all of the vitriol. We don’t trust RUSADA because of the number of swimmers that they’ve caught doping?? Maybe we shouldn’t trust USADA because not enough American swimmers test positive.

I don’t trust Russia because they are currently under investigation by the WADA as a result of allegations (evidence from a RUSADA employee and athletes I might add, NOT from outsiders) of SYSTEMMATIC doping practices; that is why their drug testing procedures in Kazan are being supervised, not because of prejudice or vitriol. The fact that there have been so many recent positive drug tests by Russian swimmers, including Efimova, one of their big stars, and the fact that another member of their women’s team, Lovtsova, just returned from a second doping offense immediately swimming significantly faster than she ever has in her life, adds fuel to my distrust.

The USADA HAS had lots of positive drug tests in other… Read more »

As I said it a few weeks ago, that’s a good thing that MP doesn’t swim there. At least he will not risk anything. A Russian plot would have been possible.
You never know with these guys.
Katie Ledecky, be very careful! 😆

Be sure that the “collaborators from other WADA-acredited lab’s” can speak Russian so they understand when the RUSADA technicians say things behind their backs like, “Distract that French guy while I replace this Russian athlete’s urine sample with one of my own!” 😉

This is why Jean – Paul Juncker wanted a new EU army . This way they could march in & declare – Oui – this urine is native to z region & cannot be switched or mislabelled under Le Methode Champage rules.

Unfortunately like Napoleon & the next guy , they will be marched right out . Hence you have the RUSDA . If you don’t like it , don’t go . Quite simple really .
