Rockwood backstroker Tennyson Henry commits to LSU

Tennyson Henry will head from the Rockwood Swim Club in Missouri to Louisiana State University next year, the swimmer announced via Instagram.

Henry is a backstroking specialist who’s also pretty good through several freestyle distances. She’s been 56.8 in the 100 back and is closing in on the two-minute barrier in the 200.

Henry’s Top Times

  • 100 back: 56.8
  • 200 back: 2:00.88
  • 200 free: 1:51.36
  • 500 free: 4:58.31
  • 100 free: 51.85

Henry will have her work cut out for her to score early on in the tough SEC, but she brings enough versatility to the table to make an intriguing prospect for LSU. Already, Henry looks like she’ll have a shot to compete for multiple relay spots down the road. In the backstrokes, she’ll get to train a year with Caley Oquist, who was already one of the conference’s better backstrokers as a sophomore last season.
