PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania men’s swimming and diving team took down La Salle 175-114 Thursday evening at the Sheerr Pool. The Quakers improve to 5-5, while the Explorers fall to 0-5.
On an evening where 16 events were held, the Quakers took first place in ten. Senior James Curreri and sophomore Max Malakhovets were Penn’s repeat winners, with Curreri placing first in the 100 back (48.65) and 200 back (1:43.47) while Malakhovets topped the 100 fly (48.81) and 200 free (1:37.51). Other winners on the night for Penn include Robert Melsom (1000 free), Watson Nguyen (100 breast), Can John Yeniay (200 butterfly), Eddie Jin (50 free), Neo Matsuyama (200 breast), and Henry Guo (500 free).
The Quakers have now won four of their last five matchups, scoring 169.5 or better in all four wins.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — La Salle men’s swimming and diving dropped a 175-114 decision at Penn in a regular season dual meet on Thursday evening.
Despite the loss, La Salle showcased several key performances—including a sweep of the diving events and a win in the final relay.
Senior Felix Jedbratt headlined the meet for the Explorers, capturing two individual victories. Jedbratt posted a 1:37.16 to win the 200-yard freestyle and later took first in the 200-yard individual medley with a 1:52.05. He also anchored the squad in the 200-yard freestyle relay, helping secure a win in the closing event with a 1:21.92 finish.
On the boards, sophomore Calvin LeBlanc swept both diving events, tallying top scores of 263.78 in the 1-meter and 287.63 in the 3-meter.
Junior Carter Perkins delivered a strong sprint showing with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle (44.45) and contributed to the winning relay team. Junior Austin Wakefield finished second in the 50-yard freestyle at 20.89 and also played a key role in the 200-yard freestyle relay alongside Tarik Gusic, Perkins and Jedbratt.
