Olympic Trials Qualifier Ashley Pollok Signs with Texas Longhorns

The Woodlands Swim Team’s Ashley Pollok will be staying in state next season, as she’s just signed to join the Big 12 champion Texas Longhorns next season. Pollok, a 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, brings some versatility to the table, as her best events include back, breast, and IM. She’ll make the move to Austin next fall after graduating from Kingwood High School.

Pollok was a 2-time medalist at the 2016 Texas 6A State Championships, where she placed 3rd in the 200 IM and 3rd in the 100 back. She then went on to compete at the 2015 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals. In the long course pool this past summer, Pollok represented her club at her first U.S. Olympic Trials, where she qualified to compete in the 100 meter back.

Pollok’s Top Times:

  • 100 back- 54.82
  • 200 back- 1:57.58
  • 100 breast- 1:04.17
  • 200 IM- 2:01.89
  • 100 fly- 56.74
  • 200 fly- 2:03.56

When she arrives in Austin, Pollok should have an immediate scoring impact for the Longhorns at the Big 12 Championships. Her times in the 100 back, 2000 back, and 200 IM are already fast enough to have made the championship final at 2016 Big 12s. Additionally, her best times in the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 100 breast would’ve scored in the B-final last season.
