OK State Champion Madison Sarantakos To Swim for Georgia Southern

Norman, Oklahoma’s Madison Sarantakos has given her verbal commitment to Georgia Southern University for 2016-17. Sarantakos is a senior at Norman North High School and a member of the Sooner Swim Club.

Sarantakos is a three-time individual state champion, winning honors twice in the 100 butterfly and once in the 200 freestyle. Her leadership contributed in large part to Norman North’s first overall state team title in school history, in 2014.

Sarantakos has been a member of USA Swimming since 2004, swimming for Sooner Swim Club since the age of 7. She holds numerous age group club, club and high school records.

She is active as a member of Rotary International, Key Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In 2015-16 she was named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team.

“I chose GSU because I felt at home and welcomed by the team and coaching staff immediately. I fell in love with the campus, facilities and the entire feel of the University. With strong academics coupled with a great swim program — I knew this was the place for me. I can’t wait to be an Eagle!”

Great swimmer from a great family!! Madie is a joy to coach and watch swim. She is well-rounded, hard working and her smile and positive attitude is contagious. Very proud of her! Congrats!!
