LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brown men’s swimming and diving (1-3) earned three wins and 600.5 points to lead after day one of the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium. Rory O’Connor’s freshman campaign continues to be historic as he won another event while setting a program record in the 500 free. Rowland Lawver (1-meter dive) and Marton Nagy (200 IM) won their respective events.
FRIDAY EVENING SESSION
Brown had two top-five finishers in the 200 free relay as Christopher Zhang, Donavan Jeng, Jonathan Gim, and Tucker Peterson (‘A’) placed third with a time of 1:20.27, and the ‘B’ team of Marton Nagy, Caden Blamer, Rudd Day, and Finn Quested placed fifth.
O’Connor set a pool record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:17.27, breaking the previous mark of 4:18.56 set in 2009. It was also a Brown record, set by teammate Matt Williamson during the 2025 Ivy League Championship. Christian Duetoft (second), Williamson (fifth), Max Hardart (seventh), and James Kershaw (eighth) rounded out the top eight.
Lawver continued his sensational senior campaign and won yet another 1-meter dive for 32 points. James Skipper (fourth), Matteo Vasiliadis (fifth), and Marcel Mateos Salles (sixth) earned points for Brown.
Nagy repeated his prelim finish and won the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:44.32. Five Bears joined Nagy in the top eight as Jake Regenwetter (third), Erik Nadecki (fourth), Max Moore (fifth), Jack Butera (sixth), and Matthew Purcell (eighth) raced in the finale.
Christopher Zhang placed fourth in the 50-yard free finals.
Nagy, Moore, Zhang and Gim comprised Brown’s ‘A’ team in the 400 yard medley relay and placed second. The ‘B’ team of Regenwetter, James Gottfried, Quested and Jeng finished seventh.
FRIDAY MORNING SESSION
Duetoft’s 4:22.06 in the 500 free won preliminaries as the sophomore advanced to the finals, along with O’Connor (second), Williamson (fifth), Kershaw (sixth), and Hardart (eighth).
Nagy won the 200-yard IM prelims with a time of 1:46.73 and was followed by Regenwetter (second), Nadecki (third), Moore (fourth), Butera (sixth), and Purcell (seventh) as six Bears advanced to the finals.
Zhang advanced to Friday’s finals with a fifth-place finish in the 50-yard free prelims.
Lawver’s 377.63 in the 1-meter dive was good for first, and he moved onto the finals, joined by Mateos Salles (fourth), Skipper (fifth), and Vasiliadis (sixth).

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brown women’s swimming and diving (2-3) set a program record and a pool record on Friday and lead after day one of the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium. The Bears tallied 572.5 points, highlighted by Natalie Garre’s 4:43.34 in the 500 freestyle. The finish set a program record previously held by Katie Cowan (4:46.99 in 2000).
FRIDAY EVENING SESSION
Brown’s 200 free relay team began the evening session with a win as Crystal Yuen, Audrey Chung, Kelly Dolce, and Morgan Lukinac finished in 1:30.97.
Garre and Yuen replicated their prelim performances in the 500 freestyle with a first and second-place finish, respectively. Garre’s mark was 4:43.34, setting a program record that was previously held by Katie Cowan (4:46.99 in 2000). Freshman Beatrice Stewart finished sixth in the event.
In the 200-yard IM, Emilia Barck’s 2:01.29 was good for third place, and Sumner Chmielewski placed fifth.
Lukinac won the 50-yard free with a time of 22.61. Dolce (fourth) and Chung (eighth) rounded out the top eight finishers in the event.
Isabella George (second), Chloe Wong (fourth), Elena Yeh (seventh), and Bowie Krawczyk (eighth) competed in the 3-meter dive finals.
Three 400 medley relay teams scored for Brown, led by the ‘A’ team of Yuen, Angelina Chen, Eva McIver-Jenkins, and Lukinac’s second-place finish (3:39.08). The ‘B’ team of Nadia Thomas, Kaitlyn Holmes, Lizzy Washburn and Dolce placed third and the ‘C’ team of Barck, Catherine Yu, Hannah Ahn and Lily Robinson finished fifth.
FRIDAY MORNING SESSION
Garre’s 4:47.51 set the standard in the 500 free prelims, with Yuen following at 4:47.63. Also advancing to the free finals was Stewart, who placed fifth with a time of 4:53.49.
Barck’s 2:02.30 mark in the 200-yard IM was the second fastest, and Chmielewski placed fifth to advance to the finals on Friday.
Lukinac, Dolce, and Chung finished third-fifth, respectively, in the 50-yard free prelims.
George won the 3-meter dive prelims, and Wong (third), Yeh (sixth), and Krawczyk (eighth) advanced to the finals.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The three-day Bucknell Invitational got underway on Friday at Kinney Natatorium, and the Bucknell men’s swimming and diving team is in seventh place in a strong field after six events.
The Bison men compiled 142 points on day one and trail Brown (600.5), Delaware (318), UMBC (282), Seton Hall (279.5), Fordham (204), and Davidson (189).
Bucknell’s top finish came from the 200-yard freestyle relay, which placed eighth in a time of 1:21.52. Drew Greene, Finn Russell, Colin Smith, and Dante Buonadonna finished just seven-hundredths of a second outside the Bucknell top-10.
The first individual event of the night was the 500 free, and Finn Franks scored for the Bison with a 20th-place finish in 4:33.22.
Three Bison scored in the 200 individual medley, as Drew Davis placed 15th (1:51.30), Buonadonna took 16th (1:52.81), and Jason Kellerman finished 18th (1:50.72). Brown dominated the event with six of the top eight finalists.
In the 50 free, Russell placed 18th in 20.61, and Smith took 24th in 21.17.
The 400 medley relay finished in 10th place in 3:19.59. Davis led off with a 49.33 backstroke, which is the sixth-fastest 100 back in school history. James Lombardi, Russell, and Greene also swam on the medley relay.
The diving program also got going on Friday with the 1-meter event, and four Bison scored points. Jack Krug led the way with a 12th-place finish with a score of 235.5, and he was followed by Connor Thurston (18th), Jackson Vinarub (20th), and Jake Hagler (21st).
The three-day meet continues on Saturday with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
Freshman Victoria Castro wrote her name into the No. 4 spot in two different Bucknell top-10 lists, and the Bison women’s swimming and diving team is in fourth place after the first of three days of the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium.
Bucknell’s 249 points are only 32.5 behind third-place Fordham. Brown raced to the early lead with 572.5 points, well ahead of second-place Delaware with 416. Behind the Bison are UMBC (197), Davidson (183), and Seton Hall (115).
In the first event of the evening session, Castro swam the lead leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay, which posted the fourth-best time in team history (1:33.02) in a fourth-place finish. That mark is just .32 off the school record. Sara Ketron, Jennifer Bolden, and Kyla Kelly followed Castro. Bucknell’s B relay also performed well, with Virginia Hastings, Kennedy Deveaux, Ashley Piacentino, and Natalia Gajecki finishing sixth in 1:34.72. Brown set the pool record in the event with a 1:30.97.
Castro came back later to finish fourth in a fast 50 free. Her time of 23.27 is also fourth-best in team history and not far off the school record, set last year by Ketron at the Patriot League Championships. Ketron (17th) and Bolden (21st) also scored for the Bison.
The first individual event of the night was the 500 free, and star sophomore Clara Renner led Bucknell with a fifth-place finish in 4:53.48. Kelly Byrne also made the A Final and finished seventh in 4:55.91, which is just .33 outside the top 10. Sydney Dettmann won the B Final and placed ninth, and Tessa Feld also scored with a 19th-place finish.
Hastings was the top Bison in the 200 individual medley, finishing seventh in 2:04.46. Kelly actually went faster in the B Final. Her time of 2:03.78 would have been good for sixth place in the A Final, but she settled for 10th-place points. Sydney Jee (18th) and Deveaux (21st) also scored in the 200 IM.
Freshmen Dea Mielenz (18th, 207.10) and Ruby Olliffe (23rd) both scored on the 3-meter diving board.
The three-day meet continues on Saturday with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
