The following is a press release courtesy of the Horizon League:

INDIANAPOLIS—Oakland’s Seth Timmons (Burnet, Texas) and Milwaukee’s Natalie Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) have been named the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while Cleveland State’s Danny Roberts (Fairview, Pa.) and Milwaukee’s Rachel Margis (Racine, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Jan. 27-Feb. 3. This is the fourth accolade for Margis this season and her third-consecutive weekly honor.

Oakland competed at Cleveland State this past weekend for a double dual match against the Vikings and Xavier. Timmons led all Golden Grizzlies’ swimmers as the lone two-time winner for the meet.  The freshman posted a personal record in the 500-freestyle with a first-place time of 4:38.43. He also took top spot in the 100-freestyle in a time of 9:35.73 to help the Oakland men’s team sweep the double dual.

Milwaukee traveled north to Green Bay to compete in a dual meet against the Phoenix. Johnson led the way for the Panthers in the win, claiming first-place finishes in all four of her events. In her individual event wins, the sophomore won the 1000-freestyle in a time of 10:31.91, the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:54.37 and the 500-freestyle clocking in at 5:04.60. In addition to her solo victories, Johnson was also a member of the winning 800-freestyle relay team that broke the Green Bay pool record with a time of 7:41.08.

Roberts led all men’s divers at home against Oakland and Xavier with impressive scores on both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards. In the 1-meter competition, the junior tallied a first-place score of 324.53. Roberts also took first-place in the 3-meter with a score total of 338.85.

Margis recorded another outstanding performance for the Panthers on the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards, collecting the sweep against Green Bay. The junior won the 1-meter competition with a score of 289.90 and took first-place in the 3-meter with a score of 282.60. This past weekend marks Margis’ fifth-straight meet where she has earned the top spot in both diving events.

Milwaukee takes the pool next for an in-state dual meet at Wisconsin on Friday, February 6 set to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET.  The Panthers will then join Oakland at the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships taking place February 25-28 at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis.
