NYU Lands National Catholic High School Champs Finalist Billy Beck for 2026

Upper Main Line YMCA’s Billy Beck has committed to the New York University (NYU) men’s team for the fall of 2026.

I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at New York University. Thanks to my parents, sister and teammates for helping me through this decision. Excited to roll with @nyuswimming for the next 4 😈💜

Beck is from Malvern, PA, and attends Malvern Prep Academy, where, at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships (SCY), he set multiple lifetime bests, including the 100 freestyle (45.73) and 100 butterfly (49.27).

Beck was also a finalist at the National Catholic High School Championships. There, he finished 6th in the 50 free (21.78) and 5th in the 100 free (47.36).

Beck represented the Upper Main Line YMCA at the YMCA Short Course National Championships. He finished 43rd in the 50 free (21.34), 34th in the 200 free (1:42.22, a best time), 100 fly (50.57), and 200 fly (1:53.98, his fastest ever performance).

Best Times SCY:

• 50 Free: 21.07
• 100 Free: 45.73
• 200 Free: 1:42.22
• 100 Fly: 49.27
• 200 Fly: 1:53.98

NYU competes in the University Athletic Association, where the Violet men finished 2nd to eventual winners Emory at the 2025 UAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Based on Beck’s fastest times, he would have finished 29th in the 50 free and qualified for the ‘C’ final in both the 100 free and 200 free.

Beck was also named an NISCA All-American as a member of Malvern Prep’s 400 free relay.

NYU’s 2026 recruiting class includes Juan Diego Leon and Chris Gregg.
