Notes From Psych Sheet Seed Changes June 22nd

For those who might not click compulsively through the USA Swimming Olympic Trials psych sheets (or those who do), you’ll need to update your bookmarks as a few changes have been made in the last few days – with the most recent version being released Thursday afternoon (click here for the most current version).

Most of these changes have to do with corrected seed times, but that can make a huge change in seedings (especially for those who are playing our pick ’em contest).

The most notable change is the change of seed time for Team Santa Monica’s Jordan Wilimovsky, who is qualified in the 1500 free. He is on the 2012-2013 USA Swimming Open Water Junior National Team after placing 2nd at Open Water Nationals, and his time was switched to a 15:34.94 – jumping him up to 24th in the seedings. He’s been focusing a lot on open water, but given his improvements there he very well could move into the top 15 in this race.

Other big chances affect the men’s 200 breaststroke seeding. Indiana’s Cody Miller has been bumped up to the 13th seed, while Arizona’s Carl Mickelson becomes the 15th seed, after both being seeded higher than 20th in the original version of the psych sheet.

Further down in that event, Luke (Lucas) Hoffer, a junior from Navy, has entered the men’s 200 breaststroke as well. He will slot in 42nd with a 2:16.95, just behind Nicolas Fink from Georgia. Hoffer was an honorable-mention Mid-Major All-American for the Midshipmen.

In the women’s side of the meet, Briana Borgolini has been added to the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. The Brown junior placed 2nd in the Ivy League in the 100 breaststroke last year – behind only Columbia’s Katie Meili.

Has anyone noticed that the W 400 IM’s not listed anywhere on SWIMSWAM’s US Olympic Trials schedule?

Only 2.x more days to go, can’t wait!
