No Change In WISCA Ranks: Madison Memorial, Monona Grove #1

For the sixth straight week, defending state champs Madison Memorial and Monona Grove are ranked #1 in Division 1 and 2, respectively, of the Wisconsin high school swimming rankings.

In Division 1 (for the state’s biggest schools) the top three programs all won, with the back-and-forth continuing in the two spot.

Memorial continued to dominate this season, winning 7 of 10 events to take the team title at the Middleton Cardinal Relay Invite. They remain #1. Last week’s runners-up, Hartland Arrowhead, traveled down to Illinois for the Evanston Invite, which they also won. But they were leapfrogged in the ranks by Madison West, which rolled away with the Marquette Invite at the Schroeder YMCA in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.

Division 2 leaders Monona Grove actually dropped a meet this weekend, falling to Brookfield Central/East at the Shorewood Invite. Despite that, the invite results weren’t enough to significantly impact the state’s top times database (from which these ranks are determined), and the top 6 ranked teams remained unchanged for yet another week. McFarland still trails Monona Grove, which Shorewood and Grafton in tow.
