After 13 years as the Head Coach at Las Vegas Swim Club (LVSC), Pete Mavro has stepped down from the role and will continue coaching within the program, focusing on the Gold and Junior National groups.
Effective May 1, 2026, Amber Stewart has been named Head Coach, with Stefani Patterson stepping into the role of Head Age Group Coach. Both are long-time contributors to LVSC and will continue building on the club’s strong culture of athlete development and competitive success.
Coach Amber brings a proven track record of developing elite athletes, including working with Max Carlsen during his age-group career, where he qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials. Carlsen has since gone on to win an ACC Championship title in the 500 freestyle as a freshman at NC State. She has also coached numerous swimmers who have continued their careers at the collegiate level, including programs such as the University of Utah, IUPUI, Air Force Academy, BYU, South Dakota State University, Seattle University, Long Island University, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Under Pete’s leadership, LVSC has experienced significant growth, producing high-level athletes while fostering a positive, family-centered environment. The club is excited for this next chapter and confident in its new leadership team.

Hope Peter let’s Amber borrow his wrist guards!
