FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Jan. 29, 2026) – Northern Arizona opened the Lumberjack Diving Invitational with a strong showing on the boards Friday, highlighted by two podium finishes in the women’s 1-meter championship and a third-place team result in the women’s team event.
In the women’s 1-meter championship, the Lumberjacks put three divers inside the top five. Mackenna Stocker led the way with a runner-up finish, scoring 569.00 across prelims and finals. Close behind, Grace Wesche earned third place with a total of 549.40, while Margaret Wesche followed in fifth at 542.55.
Northern Arizona also secured a third-place finish in the women’s team event, posting a combined score of 252.75. The NAU squad of Mackenna Stocker, Grace Wesche, and Margaret Wesche held their own against a deep field, finishing behind only San Diego State’s A and B teams.
Kirsten Clark also contributed for the Lumberjacks on the 1-meter board, gaining valuable competition experience as the invitational opened and continuing her progression as the postseason approaches.
Northern Arizona’s depth was on full display throughout the day, a point emphasized by head diving coach Nikki Kelsey.
“I thought we did a great job today. To have our three veteran seniors finish in the top six was great, and they were very consistent through prelims and carried that into finals,” Kelsey said. “There are still some small things we can clean up, but I was really pleased with everyone’s effort. Kirsten did some really good things as well, she even competed a new dive today and is becoming more consistent. I’m excited to see what this group can do on the one-meter board come conference time.”
The Lumberjacks return to the boards tomorrow morning as the invitational continues, with diving set to begin at 10:30 a.m. MST at the Wall Aquatic Center. Northern Arizona’s swimmers will also go head-to-head with Utah Tech in a dual meet beginning at 4:30 p.m. MST.
Live results are available on DiveMeets, with swim results also be accessible tomorrow via Meet Mobile.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 30, 2026) – Heading into Senior Day, the Northern Arizona swimming & diving impressed on Friday, racking up an 80-24 dual win against Utah Tech and capturing three of the top four spots on the 3-meter springboard.
The Lumberjack swimmers hosted Utah Tech Friday afternoon at the Aquatic & Tennis Complex and picked up five event wins in the six-event dual. Cydnie Perkins set the 200 breaststroke pool record, clocking a time of 2:15.39 to best the previous record of 2:16.82 set in 2018. Perkins already owns the pool record in the 100 breaststroke.
After Perkins set a new pool record in the penultimate event of the day, the Lumberjacks shattered the pool record in the 800 freestyle relay. Isahbel Krasht swam the first leg, turning it over to Evalotta Aabrams, who clocked the fastest split of 1:50.77. Kaci Kelaher and Abbie Miller closed out the relay as NAU posted a winning time of 7:30.46, nearly three seconds faster than Boise State’s previous record set six years ago.
“There were a lot of great swims across the board,” said head coach Andy Johns. “Some of them were hidden in the middle of relays, but the splits were awesome. We had lifetime bests at altitude a month out (of conference championships), so I’m pretty pleased with what’s happening here. We’ll need to come back out tomorrow, race with the same energy, effort and excitement to set us up for Texas because it’s going to be a battle at the conference meet.”
NAU claimed the top two spots in the 200 medley relay to open the dual with the Lumberjacks’ ‘A’ team of Gracie Munk, Perkins, Elsa Musselman and Kokona Watanabe turning in a time of 1:41.65. Krasht followed up with a win in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.68, leading a 1-2-3 NAU sweep in the event.
Munk nearly captured the pool record in the 200 backstroke, just missing by less than a second, with a winning time of 1:59.77. Munk led four swimmers in the top four spots.
Utah Tech claimed its lone event win of the day in the 200 freestyle relay, edging out NAU at the wall. The Trailblazers posted a time of 1:33.86, while NAU’s ‘A’ relay of Musselman, Watanabe, Katarina Klatt and Camryn Brown finished right behind at 1:33.91. In the day’s final individual event, Perkins paced the ‘Jacks in a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 breaststroke.
The NAU divers opened Friday’s competition with the second day of the Lumberjack Diving Invite. After placing on second to Arizona’s Zara Joy Ayazi on 1-meter on Thursday, Mackenna Stocker got the best of Ayazi on 3-meter.
Stocker carried the event’s best prelim score of 305.35 into the finals and held on for the win with a final score of 602.30.
Ayazi prevented a clean sweep of the top three spots by the Lumberjacks as Margaret Wesche and Grace Wesche finished third and fourth respectively. Margaret Wesche posted a finals score of 584.20 and Grace Wesche recorded a score of 574.70. Kirsten Clark totaled a score of 200.65 in the preliminary round.
“Today was a great day, obviously with Mack Stocker getting the win, that’s huge against some really tough competition,” said head diving coach Nikki Kelsey. “Maggie and Grace right there in third and fourth was awesome as well. There was consistent diving and there’s still room for improvement, which is great with a few more weeks of practice before we go into conference and zones. Kirsten Clark had one of the best dives I’ve seen her do too, so that was great. I’m really proud of all of them.”
The Lumberjacks will celebrate their seven seniors, Munk, Musselman, Perkins, Clark, Stocker, Grace Wesche and Margaret Wesche, during Senior Day on Saturday. The divers will conclude the Lumberjack Diving Invite, beginning at 10:30 a.m. MST, and the swimmers will host Utah Tech in another dual starting at 11 a.m. MST.
NAU’s final competition of the regular season is free for all fans to attend.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 31, 2026) – Northern Arizona women’s swimming and diving closed a busy home weekend at the Aquatic & Tennis Complex with a strong showing across both programs, highlighted by consistent diving performances at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational and a dominant swimming victory over Utah Tech.
Diving competition concluded Sunday with the women’s platform event at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational. Grace Wesche led the Lumberjacks with a third-place finish, scoring 487.55, while Margaret Wesche followed closely in fifth with a total of 481.20. Mackenna Stocker added a ninth-place finish, totaling 464.50 across prelims and finals, while Kirsten Clark competed in prelims and posted a score of 147.95.
Head diving coach Nikki Kelsey reflected on the platform competition and the weekend as a whole:
“I thought today was great,” Kelsey said. “We had all of our divers finish in the top half of the finals, and even though we don’t have the same level of difficulty as some of the other programs, we were right there with them. That says a lot about where we are. Grace was really solid, and honestly all three of them were consistent throughout the day, but Grace and Maggie were especially strong. Kirsten also competed in a new dive and beat several divers, which was exciting to see. Overall, I’m really pleased with how we performed on the platform against some major programs. The entire weekend was strong and consistent, with just enough room for improvement, which is exactly what we want as we head into the next few weeks preparing for conferences and zones.”
In Saturday’s dual meet, the Lumberjacks posted a 183–69 victory over Utah Tech, winning 11 of 14 events and sweeping all four relay races. Northern Arizona controlled the meet from the opening event and consistently placed multiple swimmers in scoring positions throughout the lineup.

Saturday’s meet also served as Senior Day, as the Lumberjacks honored Munk, Musselman, Perkins, Clark, Stocker, Grace Wesche and Margaret Wesche for their contributions to the program.

I’m proud of the entire team as well. There was a lot of really good stuff happening across the board, especially from the women, who competed with great effort and attitude. Overall, it was an awesome way to close out the dual-meet slate.”
Northern Arizona will next compete at the MPSF Swimming & Diving Championships, set for Feb. 25–28 in Pharr, Texas. Following conference action, select divers will return home to host the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships at the Wall Aquatic Center from March 9–11.
