Nathan Foucu, Last Uncommitted Top-20 From the Class of 2026, Chooses Stanford

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

High school senior Nathan Foucu has announced his verbal commitment to Stanford University’s class of 2030.

“I am humbled to finally announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Stanford University. First, I would like to thank God. I would also like to thank my family, Coach Andre, Coach Oliver, and all others for their unconditional support. Thank you to Coach Dan and Coach Mike who blessed me with this opportunity, GO CARDD🌲!”

Foucu attends The King’s Academy in San José, California, about 10 miles south of Palo Alto. He swims year-round with Quicksilver Swimming and specializes in the shorter end of the freestyle range. With the 3rd-fastest 200 free and the 7th-fastest 100 free in the cohort, we ranked him 19th among the top boys swimming recruits in the high school class of 2026.

In high school swimming last spring, Foucu won the 200 free (1:35.40) and was runner-up in the 100 free (43.99) at the 2025 CIF Central Coast Section Championships. He earned PBs in both events. He also led off the 200 free relay with a PB of 20.18 and swam a 22.81 butterfly split on the medley relay. A week later at the California State Meet, he came in 3rd in both the 100 and 200, further lowering his 100 time to 43.54 and hitting 1:35-mids twice more in the 200.

All told, Foucu dropped 1.2 seconds in the 100 free and 2.5 seconds in the 200 free during the 2024-25 short-course season.

He opened long-course season with a 1:54.61 PB in the 200 free at U.S. Nationals, where he also clocked a 51.39 in the 100 free. Foucu dropped half a second in his 200 at Novato Sectionals, then finished the summer with a whopping 1:51.48 at Sacramento Futures. He won the 100 free, was runner-up in the 200 free, and placed 5th in the 50 free, and he left Novato with PBs of 22.91 in the 50 free, 50.41 in the 100 free, 1:51.48 in the 200 free, 25.86 in the 50 fly, and 56.67 in the 100 fly.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 20.18
  • 100 free – 43.54
  • 200 free – 1:35.40

Foucu will join the Cardinal class of 2030 with #8 Maxwell Stanislaus, Enzo Desviat Ruiz, Evangelos Efraim Ntoumas, and Tyler Phillips. It took 19.41/ 42.78/ 1:34.41 to score in the freestyle events at the 2025 ACC Championships.
