Coming off a history-making season at the University of Missouri, head diving coach Kyle Bogner is retiring from his post after seven years at the helm.
Swim & dive head coach Andrew Grevers announced Bogner’s retirement on Friday.
During his seven-year run in Columbia, Bogner coached eight All-American divers and had at least four divers qualify for the NCAA meet each season.
The pinnacle for Bogner and the Tigers came weeks ago at the 2026 Men’s NCAA Championships in Atlanta, where senior Collier Dyer captured the school’s first- ever national title in diving.
Dyer topped the field in the 3-meter event with 497.75 points, which was a school record.
“Through much prayerful consideration, I have decided to retire from coaching at the end of the semester,” Bogner said in a press release from the school. “My family and I have been presented with an incredible opportunity that fulfills lifelong dreams for all of us. We will be moving to the mountains of Montana to serve as Directors of Mountain Gateway’s Wilderness Intensives program, a Christian non-profit using the backcountry to train and send missionaries all over the world. I am deeply grateful to Coach Grevers for giving me the opportunity to become part of the Mizzou Swim and Dive family seven seasons ago. His support of diving has been unwavering, and it has been a major factor in the success we’ve experienced.”
Before coming to Missouri, Bogner was the head diving coach for four seasons at Wyoming from 2014 to 2018.
“What Kyle has meant to this program goes far beyond technical coaching; he has been a mentor and a steady hand for dozens of student-athletes,” Grevers said. “This season was a perfect reflection of his impact. The growth we saw in Collier, jumping from 44th place a year ago to an NCAA Champion this March, is a direct result of the emotional and mental preparation Kyle instills in his athletes. Kyle is leaving Mizzou at the absolute top of his game, and we are forever grateful for the legacy of excellence he leaves behind.”

Coach Bogner did an excellent job. He will be missed. Is this why some divers transferred out of Mizzou.
Well done Coach Bogner!
He was the only legit coach on staff too..
