‘Livestream Andy’ Previews the 2023 Men’s NCAA Championship Meet

Livestream Andy is BACK. Andy Hardt, aka Livestream Andy, will be calling a few sessions of the prelims this week at the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The man who has single-handedly rewritten the lexicon of the sport with phrases like “Full of Swimming” will be back on the mic calling races this weekend before handing off to Rowdy Gaines and crew for the big show.

Check out Andy’s preview of the meet below.

Andy is responsible for perhaps one of my favorite calls in NCAA swimming, the line “Caeleb Dressel, the world at his feet” during the final of the 50 free always elevated that race video to me.

I wonder if there is a good formula for calling a swimming race.

One of the best race commentaries I’ve heard was the London 2012 200 fly race between Phelps and LeClos. It’s on YouTube.

Horse races are often called in a very exciting way. They have to keep a sharp eye on the action because the horses are changing position a lot.
