At 14 years of age, Razorback’s Lexie D’Amico lit up the pool at Columbia Sectionals with a 1:10.66 100 breaststroke win. D’amico is now the #1 ranked 13-14 girl in the country this season.

In the all-time 13-14 rankings, D’amico sits at #25. Amanda Beard holds the national age group record from the 1996 Olympics with a 1:08.09.

This marks a second win for D’amico at this sectionals meet, following the 200 breast final that she topped on Wednesday.

D’amico was part of a club team sweep in the women’s individual events last night, meaning that age group swimmers beat out college swimmers in every event. This included Hayden Gibson, D’amico’s Razorback teammate, who won the 100 back in 1:02.36. She out-touched Mexican Olympian and Southern Illinois University athlete Celia Pulido by just one hundredth. It marks Gibson’s 3rd individual win of the meet.

University of Texas commit for 2026, Sydney Schoeck, turned heads in the 400 freestyle yesterday. Coming into the meet, the CSP Tideriders swimmer held a best time of 4:19.76 in the 400 free. She dropped that down to 4:15.99 in the prelims and won the finals in 4:16.26. Schoeck was an honorable mention on SwimSwam’s way too early class of 2026 recruit rankings

University of Indiana 2026-bound Emma Belk also enjoyed a win and sizeable time drop in Columbia. Hers came in the 200 fly, going from 2:17.09 to 2:14.79. Belk represents Springfield Aquatics and is 17 years old.

On the men’s side, a club team sweep did not occur. In fact, there was only one age group winner in the session: Ellis Crisci in the 400 free. The 16-year-old TST athlete threw down an impressive 3:56.26, shaving over a second off his previous best. Crisci also won the mile on Wednesday, setting himself up for a potential 400-800-1500 sweep at this meet.

Southern Illinois’ Willem Huggins unleashed a massive pb in the 100 back to top the podium. The Missouri Valley conference runner-up in the short course version of the event this year, Huggins dropped from 57.93 to 56.39 at this meet.

In a tightly-packed 100 breaststroke final, Jack Grandy of Missouri State managed to get his hand on the wall first, clocking a 1:03.27.

To close out the session, we saw Vova Gavrysh score his second win of the meet in the 200 fly. The McKendree athlete logged a 2:00.37 to win by a second and a half.

The 400 freestyle relays were contested in the morning session. Empire KC won the women’s event in 3:58.74, while River City took the men’s race with a 3:27.13.
