INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Kenyon College’s already impressive list of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Postgraduate Scholarship winners continued to flourish after soon-to-be graduates Molly Haag and Ethan Manske were named among the winter sports recipients for the 2025-26 season.

Both members of Kenyon’s swimming and diving program, Haag and Manske were selected from a pool of nation-wide nominees that spanned all three NCAA divisions. They were two of just 42 chosen to receive the one-time $10,000 postgraduate scholarship, given to student-athletes who excelled academically and athletically.

The two scholarships bring Kenyon’s overall total to 94 recipients since the 1969-70 academic year. That total ranks as the second best among all NCAA Division III institutions.

Haag, who will graduate in a couple of weeks with a degree in mathematics, will use her postgraduate scholarship while attending University of Colorado Law School.

During her time at Kenyon, Haag made the Merit List every semester, was a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon Honor Society and was a Natural Science Divisional Speaker at Baccalaureate. She was recently named a two-time Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators (CSC), and she’s soon to be a three-time member of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, as well as a four-time Scholar All-American, as named by College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of  America (CSCAA).

In the pool, Haag was a national champion, both as an individual and as a part of a team. In March, she won her first two individual national championship events, taking the crowns in both the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle events. She was a four-time qualifier for the NCAA Division III Championship and she concluded her career with 18 All-America awards. Additionally, she amassed six conference event titles, 16 all-conference honors, and was voted the 2026 NCAC Swimmer of the Year. In 2024, she played an integral role on the Kenyon team that won the national championship, the program’s NCAA-record 25th national title.

Manske was also a four-time qualifier for NCAA Championships and part of Kenyon’s runner-up national finishes in both 2023 and 2024. Over the course of his four seasons, he earned 14 CSCAA All-America awards and had four top-five career finishes at NCAA Championship meets. At the conference level, Manske won the 400-yard individual medley title three straight seasons. Over his four years, he won four conference crowns and amassed 11 all-conference honors.

In the classroom, Manske majored in both environmental studies and Japanese. He was on Kenyon’s Merit List every semester, he was a three-time CSC Academic All-American First Team selection, and will soon be a three-time member of the NCAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, as well as a  four-time CSCAA Scholar All-American. In 2025, he was awarded Kenyon’s Japanese Prize, given by the department to the best student as chosen by professors.

Manske’s postgraduate plans include attending Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies (IUC) through Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute, where he will be participating in a 10-month intensive language experience while living in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan.
