Freshman Katie Ledecky was named the Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month by the conference office on Tuesday.

Ledecky earned the honor for the month of February, where she was part of four American records and was named the Swimmer of the Meet at the Pac-12 Conference Championships. The Bethesda, Maryland, native won two individual Pac-12 titles (400 individual medlay and 500 freestyle) and was a member of two relay titles (400 and 800 free relay) en route to American records in each of those events. Stanford won its record 20th conference title and first since 2013.

Earlier in the month, Ledecky pulled off an impressive double when she set the pool record at Cal in the 1,000 free, and then duplicated that feat in the very next race in the 200 free. She also set a pool record in the 500 free to lead the Cardinal past the second-ranked Bears, 177-123.

This is the second such honor for Ledecky, who also earned the conference’s Swimmer of the Month for November.

The NCAA Championships are up next for the Cardinal. Stanford has won more national titles than any other program, but is in search of its first since 1998. The Cardinal has finished in the top eight at the national meet in every year of its existence, and has finished among the top three in each of the last three years, including runner-up in 2014 and 2016.
