Leah Shackley ended the session with a WUGs Record en route to gold in the women’s 200m back for the stars n’ stripes.
Italy surged ahead of the ‘Individual Neutral Athletes’ to rank 2nd early on in this competition among a total of 13 countries that have each earned at least one piece of hardware thus far.
The nation was boosted by a gold and bronze in the men’s 50m butterfly, courtesy of Simone Stefani and Lorenzo Gargani. Teammate Viola Scotto Di Carlo secured women’s 50m fly bronze for Italy as well.
