Israel’s Olympic Swimmers: Going Back to the Beginning

The above video, from Schwachter X-photography, is a mini-documentary that highlights four of Israel’s best swimmers, and traces them back to their roots: the Negev Swimming Championship.

All four have had varying levels of international success, and all four are in contention to make the 2016 Olympic Team: Guy Barnea, Keren Siebner, Yakov Toumarkin, and Gal Nevo.

The four made visits as ambassadors for the Negev Swimming Championships by showing up at the homes of four young local swimmers to surprise them with personalized invitations to the meet. This meet is a very creative and fun meet that interweaves different challenges and twists

The video, which is in Hebrew but subtitled in English, was Directed and Edited by Amit Schwachter, with Eli Shrem as the Cinematographer and Gilad Kacalerchik in charge of the underwater photography. This is a great watch, and a good reminder for all of us to never lose touch of who we were when we started this sport.
