Senior Jennifer Beadle scored her third hat trick of the weekend against the 49ers to lead four Hoosiers with multiple goals. Beadle ended the tournament with a team-leading 10 goals.

The Lions ended their drought on the possession after Young’s goal and held the line from there, scoring five unanswered goals across the second and third quarters. Megan Abarta scored once in the fourth quarter to cut LMU’s lead to three, notching her first goal of the weekend.

Young converted a power play with seconds left on the first quarter clock to erase the 49ers’ opening score.

Karrie Kozokar got the Hoosiers on the board midway through the second, her first of two in the game, to break a 2-0 Long Beach run. Young and Abarta added goals before the break to give Indiana a 7-4 lead at halftime.

Sophomore Emily Powell tabbed her second goal of the weekend after the break, followed by Joelle Nacouzi’s power play conversion that capped a 4-0 Hoosier run. Nacouzi and Kozokar added their second goals down the stretch to break up a trio of Long Beach goals.
