How to Watch the 2025 U.S. Open

2025 U.S. OPEN

The 2025 U.S. Open kicks off on Wednesday, and with major names like Summer McIntosh, Gretchen Walsh, and Leon Marchand in attendance, this meet should be a fun one to watch.

The meet will be long course meters, and spectators will get to see every event, including 50s of stroke, over the four-day meet. Day 1 will feature only the men’s and women’s mile, where men’s World Record holder Bobby Finke will be racing new Florida teammate Ahmed Jaouadi.

Every session will be livestreamed on the USA Swimming Network. This is the only way to watch the prelims sessions and the distance free session to open the meet.

The Day 2 and Day 3 finals sessions will be on Peacock, and these days will see both IM events, the 50 and 100 backstroke and breaststroke, the 100 fly, and the 50, 200, and 400 freestyles.

There will also be a delayed stream of the day four finals on Sunday, December 7th at 12 pm on CNBC.

Anyone know if MA is still swimming? And if so, did he leave ASU?

No Jaouadi in Wednesday’s heat sheet for the mile.

Is streaming the whole meet in the same place so hard? Why is this three different streamers? Why does Peacock not stream the final day? They don’t stream the 100 freestyle? What?

Oh ffs

I see USA Swimming still actively decides to shrink the sport (while publicly proclaiming attempts at the opposite) by not utilizing the sheer power and scale of Youtube.

Will clips of the races be made available on the app after the competition?

Yep, they already have https://www.youtube.com/@usaswimming/streams where other events have been live streamed. Theoretically a casually fan could stumble upon some live swimming there that they didn’t already know was happening.

Instead, USA Swimming prefers to develop their own application that doesn’t run in a browser and must be installed on each device. This is something only a die hard fan is going to do, and even then, some die hard fans won’t be able to watch (on a work computer, for example, where you might be able to watch YouTube, but not install a separate USA Swimming Network app).
