Grabich Takes His Third Event at the National Championships in Argentina

On the first day of the Argentine National Championships Federico Grabich broke the national record in the men’s 200 freestyle winning the event in a time of 1:47.78. On the second day he took the men’s 50 freestyle in a time of 22.82.

Grabich finished the competition by winning the men’s 100 freestyle in a time of 49.07, which is currently the fourth fastest time in the world.

Grabich was not far off of the national record of 48.99 which was set by Matias Aguilera in 2009.

The championships were one of the meets which will determine the selection for Argentina’s team for the Pan American Games and the World Championships. The team will not be announced until after the Maria Lenk Trophy which is another one of the qualifying competitions.
