She led a 1-2-3 charge by the Wolverines, with Malia Amuan taking second in 1:50.63 and Maddie Bauer in third with a 1:51.53.

Crom then went on to win the 400 IM, swimming a 4:22.93. She was phenomenal on the free leg of the race, roaring home in 57.44 to blow the race wide open. It was Amuan who again took second, swimming a 4:28.16. Michigan’s Claire Donan picked up the third-place finish as well, clocking a 4:28.90.

Crom didn’t compete on any relays, but she did also swim the 200 back, taking second in 2:04.63. It was teammate Noelle Kaufmann who won the event, swimming a 2:04.63.

Kaufmann took second in the 200 fly, swimming a 2:02.96. Michigan freshman Devon Kitchel swam a 2:02.13, taking the race over on the final 50 to pull into the lead as the finish approached.

Eastern Michigan had a few bright spots. Starting with the 1000 free, the first individual event, EMU’s Savs Mouat sped to victory with a 10:21.04. She negative split the race, going 5:11.75 on the first 500, then coming home in 5:19.29.

Carlin Hudson was another top performer for the Eagles, starting things out with a 1:51.81 in the 200 free. It was good for fourth, making her the top non-Michigan swimmer in the field.

Hudson then swam a 51.35 in the 100 free, finishing third, but in a very tight race. Malia Amuan won the race in 51.23, with Michigan teammate Ella Piersma taking second in 51.32. In her final race of the day, Hudson swam a 4:28.92 in the 400 IM, taking fourth and finishing yet again as the top non-Michigan swimmer.

Michigan’s Brady Kendall took the 50 free in 23.45, with EMU’s Katie Shoen finishing in a close second, touching in 23.58.

Ami Hornyak picked up a win for Ohio in the 100 breast, speeding to a 1:03.02. It was a fantastic performance for Hornyak, as she blew the field away, touching 1.78 seconds ahead of runner-up Claire Newman (Michigan).
