Free/Back Specialist Kristen Puthoff Commits to Wright State Raiders

Delaware, Ohio’s Kristen Puthoff has verbally committed to swim for the Wright State University Raiders for the 2017-18 season.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to swim at Wright State University next year. As soon as I met the team and coaches, I knew that Wright State was the perfect place for me. I am looking forward to furthering my swim career and can’t wait to be a raider!”

Puthoff is a senior at Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware, Ohio. She has been a big utility player for the Pacers. Over the years she has swum the 100/200/500 free and 100 back, as needed, at the Ohio Central District Championships. She also swims year-round for Delaware Ohio Racing Club Aquatics, but has only competed in a handful of meets since entering high school. This past season was her most prolific, and she earned best times in all her top events (with the exception of the 50 breast) in 2016:

  • 100 free – 55.02
  • 200 free – 1:57.07
  • 500 free – 5:21.71
  • 50 breast – 33.52
  • 100 breast – 1:10.88
  • 100 back – 1:03.00
  • 200 back – 2:14.32

Wright State competes in the Horizon League. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished third at the 2016 conference championships.
