FORM Smart Swim Goggles to get Open Water GPS metrics
Since launching last August, the FORM Smart Swim Goggles have proven to be a massive hit across swimming pools worldwide, showing swimmers real-time performance metrics such as splits, stroke rate, stroke count, pace, and distance while you swim.
Today, FORM announced open water real-time tracking features that for the first time enables swimmers to see GPS performance metrics, such as distance, pace, and stroke rate alongside heart rate, displayed on the FORM goggles as you swim in open water.
Teaming up with Garmin and Apple, this summer you will be able to connect the FORM goggles with the Garmin Forerunner 945, Garmin fēnix 5 Plus and fēnix 6 Pro, or Apple Watch Series 5, 4 and 3, to access real-time open water GPS performance metrics and heart rate.
Already have a pair of FORM goggles? Great. You can simply access this new open water swim functionality, in conjunction with compatible watches, through a free firmware update to your FORM goggles being released this summer.
“Whether you’re training or racing in open water, there’s always been a fundamental lack of real-time information in the moment that you’re looking for the data most,” said professional triathlete and Ironman Champion Lionel Sanders. “The launch of open water features on the FORM goggles will give swimmers the ability to understand their pacing in real-time, utilize heart rate data to gauge effort and track efficiency and see their distance tick up while swimming in the ocean or lakes. This is truly a game-changer for casual and competitive swimmers alike.”
The FORM Smart Swim Goggles are available at formswim.com and on Amazon in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia and Japan. The FORM Swim App is available as a free download from the App Store and from Google Play™.
