USC Divers in this episode of Matt vs: Celia Pinczower, Jordan Gear, Tory Ishimatsu.

Matt Barkley, host of “Matt vs”  is a USC football star. Coming out of high school in 2009 he was rated the top recruit by ESPN.

At USC Barkley was the first true freshman quarterback to open for the Trojans. His starter game was against San Jose State, which he won 56-3.

Barkley’s sophmore year he started as quarterback. He suffered a sprained ankle but managed a strong showing against Stanford and Cal.

Barklley’s junior year he broke a lot records; most completions (34) against Minnesota, passing for a record single game (468 yards), and passing for a single game record 6 touchdowns.

Most quarterbacks with his talent go pro by their senior year. Barkley did not. He returned to his USC Trojans, and they were ranked #1 in the preseason poll. A loss to Stanford ended their dream of a BSC national title, however. What followed was an  abysmal season, with 5 losses overall.
