GAINESVILLE, Fla. –The University of Florida Athletic Association has announced its spectator policy for the women’s swimming and diving home opener with the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020 at the Ann Marie Rogers Swimming and Diving Pool inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

As the UAA continues to work hand in hand during the COVID-19 pandemic with UF Health, campus leadership and the Southeastern Conference, it has been determined that the general public will not be permitted to attend Florida’s first home dual meet of the 2020-21 season versus the Hurricanes.

Meet updates will be made available on the Gators’ Swimming and Diving twitter account, @GatorsSwimDV. Additionally, live meet results can also be followed during dual meet action on the Meet Mobile app.

The in-state battle will begin with diving at 10:30 a.m., followed by the swimming events at 12:00 p.m.

The department will continue to evaluate its efforts to promote a culture of safety for the student-athletes, staff and fans and updates will be available before Florida’s home matchups against Texas A&M on Jan. 9, 2021 and North Florida on Jan. 20, 2021 (women only).

So sad that parents & friends can’t be there to support athletes, although I support the decision. Wondering if outdoor venues (UCLA) spectators will be allowed when they eventually set a meet schedule since we’re outdoors and they could limit the number based on the seating so that everyone is socially distanced?
