On the diving side, the women’s 3-meter and men’s 1-meter were contested. The Florida Atlantic women extended their lead in the team standings. Despite setting three meet records, their male counterparts finished the night over 50 points behind Towson.
Women’s Recap
Junior Izzy Jones lowered her own Florida Atlantic school record in the 50 free. She broke 23 seconds for only the third time in her career. Her 22.95 in prelims was her first time under the barrier since the 2023 edition of this invite where she initially set the record (22.82).
Jones was a bit off her individual time in the 200 free relay (23.32), where she was joined by Bry Bellile (23.09), Ludo Pavia (23.45), and Maja Piotrowicz (22.56). The Owls combined (1:32.42) to touch over half-a-second ahead of Towson’s A (1:32.97) where Summer Bontrager was the only other swimmer to split 22-point off a flying start (22.83).
Talitha McEwan was FAU’s other event winner in the women’s meet. The sophomore set a new best time in the 500 free, dropping over four seconds from her freshman outing at this meet (4:51.10). She placed 16th in this event at the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship; her time on Thursday night would have finished 6th last season.
Richmond sophomore Lena Amare won the 200 IM by exactly a second (2:03.08).
On the boards, Shannon Parrau won the 3-meter event with 298.80 points.
Men’s Recap
Daniel Laureyssens broke a 10-year-old team record in the 50 free. The Florida Atlantic senior broke 20 seconds for the first time in prelims (19.65) to get under the old record by 0.04-seconds. In finals, he took it even lower (19.57) as he led a trio of 19-point swims. Joining him in the top three were teammates Leyton Roe (19.73) and Noah Reeves (19.94). Laureyssens’ time was also a meet record.
Roe (19.70), Reeves (19.66), Rush Clark (19.89), and Laureyssens (19.12) teamed up to close out the meet in the 200 free relay (1:18.37). Their combined time established a new meet, pool, and school record.
James Shevchenko (FAU) won the 500 free for the Owls. His time also snuck under the meet record by 0.19-seconds, established in 2005 (4:22.60). His swim dropped over two seconds from his previous best time, set at the 2025 ASUN Championships.
Towson’s Jed Garner kept the best times rolling in the 200 IM (1:45.76), slashing over a second from his best time.
FAU went 1-2 on the 1-meter board thanks to Trevor Kuhn (307.35) and Michael Buchart (306.25).
