FINIS, Inc., the worldwide leader in technical swimming innovation, is proud to announce the signing of 2017 World Championships finalist and 2018 Pan Pacs silver medalist Jack Cartwright. The rising Australian star signed a long-term agreement with FINIS that extends through the 2020 Olympic Games.

“Jack is poised to be one of the next big names in the world swimming community,” says CEO and cofounder John Mix. “His talent and dedication to the sport are remarkable, and we know he will continue finding success on his journey to the 2020 Olympics.”

Cartwright’s swimming career first garnered attention in 2016, when he won four gold medals at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships. Just one year later, he qualified for his first senior-level international meet when he made the 2017 World Championships team. In the prelims of the 100 free, he swam a blistering 47.97, a time that remained #7 in the world that year. He was just 19 at the time.

Cartwright continued making strides at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships, where he tied for silver in the 100 free. His time of 48.22 was #11 in the world for 2018.

“A lot of partnership opportunities were presented to me looking forward to the 2020 Olympic Games,” said Cartwright. “After meeting with FINIS and seeing their tech suit, I knew there was only one choice for me.”

Cartwright lives and trains in Queensland under coach Dean Boxall. He plans to finish out the rest of his Olympic cycle there.
