European Juniors Finalist Lukas Fritzke Commits To Georgia For 2026

Lukas Fritzke from Saarbrücken, Germany has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Georgia beginning in fall 2026.

Fritzke finaled in numerous events at German Nationals back in May. He finished 6th in the 200 free with a lifetime best 1:49.54 and 6th in the 400 free with a lifetime best 3:52.36. He also was 16th in the 100 free in a 50.97.

He has represented Germany at the international level on numerous occasions, including the 2024 European Junior Championships. There he finished 8th in the 200 free posting a 1:49.99. He also helped Germany to silver in the boys 4×200 free relay as he led off in a lifetime best 1:49.82.

Fritzke’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:

  • 100 free: 50.69 (44.22)
  • 200 free: 1:49.54 (1:35.80)
  • 400 free: 3:52.36 (4:20.34)

The Georgia men finished 4th at the 2025 SEC Championships and went on to finish 7th at the 2025 NCAA Championships. The team was led by Luca Urlando who won the NCAA title in the 200 fly with an NCAA record 1:36.43.

Based on his best converted times, Fritzke is just off what it took to final at SECs as it took a 4:18.24 500 free, 1:34.99 200 free, and a 42.75 100 free to make it back. Georgia scored 60 points in the 500 free at the 2025 SEC Championships, led by Tomas Koski who was 2nd in a 4:08.25 and Jake Magahey who was 3rd in a 4:08.61.

Fritzke will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Jude Banks, Maddex TernesNicholas Kwan, and Sam Lofstrom. Fritzke will not be the only member of Georgia’s roster who is from Germany as the men’s team is already home to Finn Hammer, Sascha Macht, and Finn Wendland.
