GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women’s diving team put on an impressive performance in the diving well on Saturday as the Pirates dominated NC State and UNCW on both boards inside Minges Natatorium.

Frida Zuniga won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives while also setting NCAA Zone Qualifying Scores in both events with scores of 294.75 and 339.10 respectively. Freshman Cecilia Bragantini placed second in both events with scores of 279.65 (1-meter) and 275.60 (3-meter) with the 1-meter score also an NCAA Zone Qualifier.

“Our divers continue to improve and show out every time they get a chance to compete,” head coach Matt Jabs said.

Caitlin Irvine-Smith placed third in the 1-meter with a score of 260.55 while Romina Hernandez finished third in the 3-meter (264.40) and fourth in the 1-meter (253.30).

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Junior Etan Ferguson won both boards on Saturday to lead UNCW at a diving tri-meet with NC State and host East Carolina.

Ferguson scored 305.15 points on the men’s 3-meter board and posted a score of 292.35 on the 1-meter.

Makenna Sharpe, a senior, collected 250.10 points to finish fifth on the women’s 1-meter.

The Seahawks return to action on Nov. 1, when they host William & Mary and Queens in a tri-meet at the Allen Natatorium.
