Eagles Divers Shine With Zone Qualifying Marks At Clarion Fall Classic

CLARION, Pa. — The divers of the Golden Eagles’ women’s swimming & diving team wrapped up a successful weekend at home on Saturday, with four athletes earning their crucial second NCAA qualifying marks at the Clarion Diving Fall Classic.

One night after they secured their first qualifying scores of the season, Luna CastellanosColleen HudsonKatie Madigan and Taelyn Thomas all hit their second marks of the season to ensure they will compete at the NCAA prequalification meet in March. Castellanos hit her mark in the 1-meter Dive on the six-dive list, an event she won with a score of 267.80. Thomas finished third in that event with a score of 251.15.

Hudson was the winner of the 1-meter 11-dive list, finishing with a qualifying score of 425.75. Madigan finished just behind her in the standings in that event with a score of 405.75, marking her second NCAA score as well.

On the 3-meter board, Thomas, Hudson and Madigan all hit NCAA qualifying marks as well. Hudson got hers in the six-dive list, winning that event with a score of 281.00. Thomas was just behind her in second place, hitting her second qualifying score with a 266.90. Madigan was the only Golden Eagles to go forward in the 11-dive list off the high board, notching a score of 424.15.

CLARION, Pa. — The divers of the Golden Eagles men’s swimming & diving team concluded a successful weekend at home, with three athletes hitting their second NCAA qualifying marks at the Clarion Diving Fall Classic on Saturday.

One night after they secured their first qualifying scores of the season, Zach ScheringEthan Coronado and Michael Flamm all hit their second marks of the year to ensure they will compete at the NCAA prequalification meet in March. All three hit marks in the 1-meter six-dive list, with Schering winning the event with a score of 334.95. Coronado was just behind him in second place with a score of 313.20, while Flamm took third with a mark of 300.60. Just barely missing a qualifying score was Zak Kennedy, who placed fourth in the event with a 274.25.

Schering hit an NCAA mark in the 3-meter Dive as well, winning there with a score of 311.40. Kennedy took second with a 286.05, followed by Flamm’s score of 284.45 and Coronado’s 283.05.
