Dare Rose had a very solid outing in the butterfly events at the Swim Open Stockholm last week, swimming 23.5/51.1/1:55.8 in the 50/100/200 fly. At the last minute, Rose decided to keep his Nordic tour going and attended the Bergen Swim Festival this past weekend, where he swam the same three events. The former Cal bear improved in all 3, clocking 23.1/50.70/1:55.6, winning the latter two.

U.S. men’s 100 fly could be the most competitive men’s event come trials in 2028
Rose – Casas – Heilman was already enough of a headache
Now Dressel’s on a comeback and Kharun is American.
Nonzero chance Mathias could put together something crazy after that 22.99.
And shoutout MA because honestly I hope he finds a way to put it back together in time for LA.
The US currently (including Kharun) has 6 guys under 51 lifetime
Dressel, Kharun, Rose, Heilman, Casas, Andrew.
That number will probably increase this summer if Mathias swims a tapered 100 fly and if Hayes matches his LCM with his SCY drops this year
If I was a betting guy I’ll pick Kharun and Heilman.
If I was a betting man I’d pick Shaine and Kharun. Casas about to drop a 49 mid this summer and no one is ready for it
49 mid or 51 mid
I’ll go get a quarter to flip
