CSU Bakersfield Women Receive Verbals from Cossu, Kemp, and Budshaw

California State University, Bakersfield has received a trio of commitment from swimmers Madison Kemp of Poole, England, Taylor Cossu of Walnut Creek, California, and Taylor Budshaw of Henderson, Nevada.

Madison Kemp

“I feel CSUB can help me progress in both my swimming and education! I feel I would fit perfectly on the team and I cannot wait to become a runner!”

Kemp is a freestyle/butterfly specialist. After growing up with the Poole Swimming Club, she moved to Plymouth Leander in the fall of 2016. Kemp was a finalist in the 50m fly (2nd) and 100m fly (5th) at the 2016 ASA Summer Championships in Sheffield. Her top SCM times (with their SCY conversions) include:

Taylor Cossu

“On my recruit trip, I loved how kindhearted and genuine everyone on the team at CSU Bakersfield was. Instantly when I walked onto the pool deck I was surrounded by many warm welcomes and smiles, making me feel at home. The team trains and treats each other like a family, being there for one another under whatever circumstances, and pushing each other to be the best. I am beyond excited to be apart [sic] of such an amazing program and to call CSUB my home for the next 4 years! Go Runners!!”

Cossu is a senior at Northgate High School and swims for Walnut Creek Aquabears. She specializes in sprint free and swam the 50/100 freestyle events at the 2016 CIF-North Coast Section Championships last May. Her best events are:
