Concordia University Irvine Lands 49.9 Butterflier Jayden Hernandez

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Quicksilver Swimming’s Jayden Hernandez has committed to Concordia University Irvine for fall 2021. He’s a senior at Leigh High School in San Jose.

I’m super excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at Concordia University Irvine. I’d like to give a huge thanks to all my friends, family, and coaches who helped me along the way. I’m really looking forward to the years ahead. Go Eagles!

  • 100 fly – 49.98
  • 200 fly – 1:55.30
  • 200 IM – 1:57.19

Hernandez was a 100 fly B-finalist in 2018 and 2019 at the CIF Central Coast Section Championships, and he’s a Futures qualifier in that event, too.

Next season, Hernandez should be an immediate boost to the Concordia butterfly group. During the 2019-20 season, he would’ve been their fastest 100 buttterflier by over 1.5 seconds, while he would’ve been #2 on the roster in the 200 fly. At the 2021 PCSC Championships, he would’ve tied for runner-up in the 100 fly and taken fourth in the 200 fly.

Hernandez’s 100 fly is just over a second off of the Concordia school record, and he’ll suit up with the Eagles this coming season.
