There are a few first chance meets to keep an eye on, including Ohio State’s and Michigan’s. First chance meets this close to conference championships typically allow athletes who will not be traveling or scoring at their respective conference meet to get in a prelims-finals swim. It also allows scoring swimmers to swim another event that they may have been deciding between to have on their conference schedule, but opted against it. On rare occasions, swimmers end up going fast enough at first chance meets that they make NCAAs.
