Colgate Women, Hamilton Men Earn Wins In Split Dual

CLINTON, N.Y.  – Colgate swimming and diving secured 30 podium finishes, including 15 victories, in dual action at Hamilton College on Friday evening inside Bristol Pool. 

The Colgate women defeated Hamilton, 144-122, powered by wins across sprint, distance and relay events. The Colgate men fell 162-84, but were highlighted by dominant efforts in diving and backstroke events.

Women’s Highlights

Lucy Art led the way for Colgate with a trio of victories. The senior won the 50-yard freestyle (24.30), 100-yard freestyle (53.14) and 50-yard butterfly (25.84), while also anchoring Colgate’s winning mixed 200-yard freestyle relay.

Allie Phillips delivered a strong backstroke showing, capturing second place in the 50-yard backstroke (27.23) and first in the 100-yard backstroke (57.94). Audrey Collins added wins in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.76) and 100-yard individual medley (59.30).

In distance events, MG King claimed the 800-yard freestyle in 8:29.85, while Katie Miller secured the 400-yard freestyle title with a time of 4:09.13. Paige Fisher contributed a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.37) and a runner-up finish in the 800 freestyle.

Colgate also opened the meet with a relay victory, as the quartet of David BrophyJack Schurtz-Ford, Phillips and Art won the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:30.54.


Men’s Highlights

The Raider men were paced by diver Nick Pompo, who swept both boards with victories on the 1-meter (261.60) and 3-meter (262.85) springboards.

Jack Schurtz-Ford dominated the backstroke events, winning the 50-yard backstroke (24.49) and the 100-yard backstroke (52.77). David Brophy picked up Colgate’s other individual swimming win on the men’s side, touching first in the 100-yard freestyle (47.36) and finishing second in the 150 freestyle.

Colgate also claimed the top spot in the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay, edging Hamilton with a winning time of 1:30.54.

Colgate will return to action on Jan. 10, 2026, playing host to Boston University and Fairfield at Lineberry.

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals finished first in six swimming and diving events in a dual meet with Division I Colgate University inside Hamilton’s Bristol Pool on Friday evening, Dec. 12.

Colgate recorded the 144-122 victory as the Continentals’ dual-meet record moved to 1-2. Hamilton takes a break for finals and the holidays and returns to the water on Saturday, Jan. 10 for a dual meet with Rochester Institute of Technology at home.

Elayna Pitts ’29 swept the two diving competitions. Sam Bender ’29 captured first place in the women’s 150-yard freestyle as the Continentals took the top three places. Paige Wielgus ’28 was the winner in the 50 backstroke and Zoe Reynolds ’28 grabbed the top spot in the 100 butterfly.

Megan Janczyk ’29 and Jade Matthias ’26 swam the breaststroke and butterfly legs of the winning mixed 200 medley relay.

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals finished first in 10 swimming events and defeated Division I Colgate University in a dual meet inside Hamilton’s Bristol Pool on Friday evening, Dec. 12.

The Continentals remained undefeated in dual meets at 3-0 with the 162-84 victory. Hamilton takes a break for finals and the holidays and returns to the water on Saturday, Jan. 10 for a dual meet with Rochester Institute of Technology at home.

Nathaniel Taft ’27 took the top spot in the 150- and 400-yard freestyle as well as the 100 individual medley. Taft also anchored the winning mixed 200 medley relay, which was led off by Matthew Chang ’28.

Matthew Hake ’26 and Josh Smith ’26 were double winners for the Continentals. Hake captured first place in the 50 and 100 breaststroke while Smith touched the wall first in the 50 and 100 butterfly.

Loui Chambon ’28 was victorious in the 800 free and Alex Vasquez ’27 won the 50 free.
