Carson Foster: “I definitely feel like I’m swimming the best I’ve ever swam consistently”

2026 PRO SWIM SERIES – AUSTIN

Video captured by Anya Pelshaw.

Carson Foster had a solid showing at the Pro Swim in his home pool. The Olympic medalist took 2nd in the 200 IM and fly, 3rd in the 200 free, and 6th in the 200 back. After the meet, he admitted that coach Bob Bowman has been putting them through the wringer and he’s feeling tired. However, Foster did say he’s been swimming the best he ever has consistently in training and in-season, hopefully meaning personal bests to come for the 24-year-old.

Interesting that Guiliano is spending more time with Bob. I know he has always split groups while there, but that’s a big departure from what he was doing with Lindauer at ND. Just went a best time in the 50 in December, so doesn’t seem to be affecting his speed.

I feel like Bob wants Guiliano to focus on the 200 as well as the 50 and the 100, even more so than the past. Especially when you look at World Cup and US Open last month

Enjoyed that. Anybody know what his fastest times in college swimming were in the 200yd free and the 500yd free?

200 Free – 1:32.29
500 Free – 4:10.31

His pb in the 500 is a 4:05.81, swum after his collegiate career.

I thought he went 4:08 or 4:09 at one of Texas’ random dual or intrasquad meets his junior year, then everybody was saying he should do the 500 over 200 IM at NCAAs

Also I think he was a 1:30 on a couple 800FR relays as well

Titmus used to say similar things but she usually dropped monster swims soon after.
